Our Services
At CKB we take a personal interest in every project. We believe that effective communication is as important as great design. Therefore, we want to make sure that we get to know you–your general lifestyle, your likes and dislikes, any special requirements, your time frame and your budget. Establishing great communication from the start is our first priority. As we get to know you we want you to become comfortable with us. Because we have many resources available, we want to guide you through the entire remodeling or building project.
Our services extend far beyond design. Besides offering a wide selection of cabinetry, countertops, sinks and hardware, we can also refer you to an installer and provide recommendations for other services and products such as appliances, plumbing, tile and flooring. We truly believe that a successful project is a partnership between your objectives and our design talent. At the conclusion of the project we want to make sure that we have met your needs and provided you with everything you were hoping for when you started on your project’s journey.
Start your design process
Because we want to get your input before a design is started, we start our process with a design consultation in the showroom. We ask that you bring your measurements or blueprint with you to the first meeting. At that time we will listen carefully to your project objectives regarding the look, function, and costs as we take detailed notes. Once we have an idea of your desires, we will present you with a variety of cabinetry styles in many wood species and finishes to help make your project a reality. We will also determine what types of features you would like to see in your new room and make suggestions for things you may not have thought of. We will suggest countertop materials, sinks, and hardware to go along with the cabinetry. Before you leave our showroom, our designer will have a good idea of what it will take to make your project come together in both a pleasing and affordable manner.
Within a few days our designer will draw a plan, using industry-leading design software, that will integrate your objectives for the project with our products. In addition to the plan, we will draft several perspective drawings of your room which will help you to visualize the final look of your project. At this time we will set up a second showroom appointment which will give you the opportunity to review and discuss the plans with the designer, as well as to receive the pricing for your selections. We will also discuss any changes to be made either because of function or pricing. If you would like to move forward with the process, it is important now to make sure all of the measurements and construction details have been properly planned. Therefore, it is time to get your installer involved in the process.
As we move forward with this phase of the project, we will ask for a design fee based on the scope of the project. This is a fee for the services provided in the design of your space. The amount requested is applied towards your cabinetry deposit. Once the deposit is received, we will schedule an appointment to meet with your installer at the job site. After measurements and construction elements are confirmed, changes needed will be processed by the designer. By this time we will have already given you suggestions for the selections of appliances, which should be confirmed so that the plan can be finalized. You will then be presented with a final set of detailed drawings so that you and your installer, along with the designer, can confirm that every element on the drawings is correct. Meanwhile, we will guide you in the selections of other materials such as flooring, tile, lighting, and hardware so that by the time the plan is confirmed, the cabinetry and countertops will be ready to order. During the time the cabinets are being manufactured, your installer may begin any new construction or other items that need to be finished before the cabinet installation is started. In just a few short weeks, we will be calling to let you know that your cabinetry has arrived and a time will be set with your installer to take delivery.
As the installation moves forward we will be available to address any issues that might arise or to answer any questions you or your installer might have. Once the base cabinets are set, we will set up a time for the countertop template. It is crucial that all of the appliances, as well as faucets, sinks and any other countertop accessories be at the job site at the time of the template. Our professional fabricators will measure and make a pattern for your new countertop. Within one to three weeks, an appointment will be set for the countertop installation. Once completed, your new room is well on its way to being finished.
